Welcome! We are a member Association, consisting of United States Coast Guard Licensed Captains, that has as its primary purpose the education of the public and the continuing education of its members in maritime safety and skills.
Membership is open to those who hold current and valid Master or OUPV Licenses as well as those whose License may be in Continuity.
Sodus Bay Maritime Captains Association (SBMCA) is a proud sponsor of the National Safe Boating Council’s “Wear-It” campaign which seeks to encourage the full-time wearing of life jackets (PFD’s) when underway. National Safe Boating week is Saturday May 17 through Friday May 23, 2025.
The National Maritime Center’s purpose is to issue credentials to fully qualified mariners in order to assure a safe, secure, economically viable and environmentally sound Marine Transportation System. This Maritime Center will provide everything you need to know and more.
